Summer Update!

We have had a busy summer so far-- it is hard to believe that school starts in a couple weeks. The kids have had fun doing a few camps & swim lessons. We took our annual trip to Lawrence Welk (post above) in July and Mitch & I are getting ready to head to Hawaii to celebrate our ten year anniversary  a bit early next week. Here are some pictures from the past few months of summer...

Dylan has REALLY taken to getting himself dressed. It is nice that he is able to do it all by himself, but his outfits are KILLING me!

Another great ensemble!

A day at Discovery Kingdom

See the butterfly on the right?

yuck! I can't stand opossums-- apparently my kids can!

A fun weekend cruising around town in a convertible

Last Day of School

Today was Savannah's last day of 1st grade-- I cannot believe my "baby" is going to be in 2nd grade. She had an amazing year with an absolutely fabulous teacher--- Mrs. Bower. We are so thankful Savannah was fortunate enough to have Mrs. Bower as a teacher-- and we hope she sticks around a few more years so that Dylan gets her too! Savannah grew so much this year, both academically AND physically. I measured her this afternoon and she is 4'3" and 6l pounds. Yikes-- at this rate she will be taller than me in the next two years (she is already about the same shoe size as me!!) We are excited for a fun & relaxing summer vacation. The kids will be busy with some camps & swimming and we will be taking our annual trip down to the Lawrence Welk Resort in July. Plus Mitch and I are escaping to Hawaii for a week for an early celebration of our 10 year anniversary-- can't wait!

The Russian River

This past Sunday our friends, the Robertis', invited us to go canoeing down the Russian River. We ALL had the BEST time and we can't wait to do it again-- I am bummed it took us almost 8 years of living up her to discover it! Elizabeth and Joe have a little boy, Matteo, who is a year older than Dylan. The two boys together can be a bit of a handful, but are a total crack up. Here are some pictures from the day...

Dance Pictures

Savannah took two dance classes this year-- a hip-hop & a cheer/tumbo combo. Although my long lanky daughter is not the most graceful creature (but don't tell her that, because she has NO idea!) she had a blast. Her recitals are the first weekend in June and she had pictures this week.

Savannah's 7th Birthday

This past monday our baby girl turned 7!!! I say "baby" figuratively of course, considering she is almost half tall as me & now wears about the same size shoe....
She celebrated over the weekend with a Cinco de Mayo party at the park with friends & family. On her actual birthday she got her ears pierced and we went out for dinner to sushi. It was a wonderful few days of celebrating our not so little "baby"--- we love you Savannah Leigh!!!

A Long Overdue Post....

It is has clearly been a VERY long time since I have updated this blog and I don't really have an excuse except that things have been busy! I am still adjusting to my new job and Mitch took a new job back with KJ. I co-chaired Savannah's big school fundraiser--- which was a lot of work, but worth it (we raised $63,000). AND we currently have Yvette's 4th litter of puppies for Canine Companions. All that coupled with the normal everyday life of a working family with two kids has made for a very busy 2012 so far. We are staying afloat and hoping that things will slow down just a bit as the year progresses. Here are a few pictures of the last few months...

Dylan turned 4 in January and celebrated with a party and Chuck E. Cheese's

Here are some pictures of Yvette and her puppies over the last few months. They were born on February 25. She had 6 total-- 4 girls and 2 boys, 1 lone yellow and the rest are all black. We turn them in on April 18th. They are super cute, but at this point their cuteness is rivaled by how messy & loud they are-- so we are ready for them to go! :-)
